|Chapter 11: The Universal Form|

All the hosts of demigods are surrendering before You and entering into You. Some of them, very much afraid, are offering prayers with folded hands. Hosts of great sages and perfected beings, crying "All peace!" are praying to You by singing the Vedic hymns.
The hosts of devas are taking shelter of Krishna. Some being afraid are standing at a distance with folded hand and praying, "Please protect us!" The great sages and perfected beings praise Krishna by saying, "Let there be auspiciousness in the universe!"
The Vedic hymns are authorized prayers to the Lord composed by great sages. Famous amongst them is the "Purusa Sukta" that the devas sing to attract the attention of the Lord. A devotee may pray to the Lord by repeating authorized prayers given in the Vedas or composed by other pure devotees of the Lord. The use of spontaneous prayers to glorify the Lord and beg for His mercy is also an authorized form of prayers.
