|Chapter 11: The Universal Form|
nabhah-sprisam diptam aneka-varnam
drishtva hi tvam pravyathitantar-atma
dhritim na vindami samam ca vishno
O all-pervading Vishnu, seeing You with Your many radiant colors touching the sky, Your gaping mouths, and Your great glowing eyes, my mind is perturbed by fear. I can no longer maintain my steadiness or equilibrium of mind.
Arjuna explains his pitiful state in these two verse so that the Lord will withdraw His form. He states that he has become mentally agitated with fear with no satisfaction or peace. The predominant mood here is that of fear.
