|Chapter 11: The Universal Form|
adrsta-purvam hrsito 'smi drstva
bhayena ca pravyathitam mano me
tad eva me darsaya deva rupam
prasida devesa jagan-nivasa
After seeing this universal form, which I have never seen before, I am gladdened, but at the same time my mind is disturbed with fear. Therefore please bestow Your grace upon me and reveal again Your form as the Personality of Godhead, O Lord of lords, O abode of the universe.
Arjuna had earlier requested Krishna to show him the universal form and Krishna had obliged. Now that his curiosity is satisfied and he is glad that his friend Krishna is the Supreme Person, able to display such a wondrous form, as one who is the container of everything (jagan-nivasa) and the controller of the devas (devesa), it is not possible to have a personal relationship with such a form. Arjuna is in complete awe and reverence of this form of Krishna and fearful of the offenses he has committed. He now wants to resume his relationship of a friend, he requests Krishna to resume His original form.
