Bhagavad-Gita Chapter 1, Verse 13

Chapter 1: Observing the Armies on the Battlefield of Kurukshetra
Verse: 13
tatah sankhas ca bheryas ca
panavanaka-gomukhah
sahasaivabhyahanyanta
sa sabdas tumulo 'bhavat

Translation:
After that, the conchshells, bugles, trumpets, drums and horns were all suddenly sounded, and the combined sound was tumultuous.

Explanation:
The sounds are described as "tumultuous." They reflect a state of discord, confusion and dis-harmony on the side of the Kauravas. On the other hand, as we will see later, the sounds of the conches on the Pandavas side are described as transcendental.
