Bhagavad-Gita Chapter 1, Verse 43

Chapter 1: Observing the Armies on the Battlefield of Kurukshetra
Verse: 43
utsanna-kula-dharmanam
manushyanam janardana
narake niyatam vaso
bhavatity anususruma

Translation:
O Krishna, maintainer of the people, I have heard by disciplic succession that those who destroy family traditions dwell always in hell.

Explanation:
The three verses highlight the fourth reason for not wanting to fight – fear of sinful reactions.

In the past six verses Arjuna has projected a very gloomy picture based on the destruction of family values. Now he wants to show that these are not his personal speculations but are based on authoritative sources coming down in disciplic succession. Srila Prabhupada comments, "That is the way of receiving real knowledge. One cannot reach the real point of factual knowledge without being helped by the right person who is already established in that knowledge." As per these authorized source the destroyer of family traditions dwells in hell.
