Bhagavad-Gita Chapter 2, Verse 36

Chapter 2: Contents of the Gita Summarized
Verse: 36
avacya-vadams ca bahun
vadishyanti tavahitah
nindantas tava samarthyam
tato duhkhataram nu kim

Translation:
Your enemies will describe you in many unkind words and scorn your ability. What could be more painful for you?

Explanation:
Krishna once again defeats Arjuna's arguments based on compassion. He states that Arjuna's compassion will be viewed by his enemies as cowardly weakness and will simply result in infamy.

Krishna will give His final verdict in this respect in the next chapter.
